Death Don’t Got Nothing on Me

The old adage that people are more scared about public speaking than they are of dying holds true in our latest poll. According to our most recent study, 21% of Americans are very scared of dying versus 31% who are very scared of public speaking. In fact, Americans are scared of many more things than dying, including heights and natural disasters. I suspect snakes would made it pretty high on our list had we thought to include it. The most compelling findings in this particular data set is that losing someone we love tops it all….. Feeling the pain of someone we love dying is by far our #1 fear, making us significantly more anxious than any other item listed above, including dying ourselves. Nearly 2 in 3 Americans (65%) are extremely scared to have someone they love pass away. Interestingly, this is especially true for 18-29 year olds and women, but no more so for married folks than single.

I get it.
